There is less and less time left for a new date of the CEP Barcelona to begin, the star stop of the Spanish Poker Championship, which is characterized by being the most attended of the entire season. Since 2006, Casino Barcelona has hosted the best Spanish poker players and on this occasion we want to take a historical look at all the great moments that the historic champions who have passed through this festival have made us live.
CEP Barcelona: 20 years of growth and champions
In 20 years of history, many players have managed to lift the trophy of the CEP Barcelona Main Event. The first to do so was Pedro de Jodar Mufioz
The years went by and with them the attendance increased more and more. From the 98 entries registered in that first tournament, today there are already thousands of entries.
In 2025, the last CEP Barcelona in August, the maximum record of entries registered was surpassed by counting 2,182 entries in the August Main Event. On that occasion, the champion was the Argentine Matías Arroyo

The historic victory of Ramón Colillas
In 2018, Ramón Colillas
Together with the champion’s prize, Colillas received a Platinum Pass to participate in the PokerStars Players NLH Championship (PSPC) in the Bahamas. Incredibly, Ramón prevailed over a field of 1,039 players who traveled from all over the world to participate in the championship.

For his victory, Ramón Colillas won a prize of US$5,100,000. For many years, this was the largest payout in the history of Spanish poker, only recently surpassed by the legendary Adrián Mateos
Ramón Colillas’ victory has gone down in the history of Spanish poker and, particularly, of CEP Barcelona, as he was the champion who earned the most money thanks to the Spanish Poker Championship.
