Obviously, despite his good fold, Nitse’s stack was visibly hit, so he ended up being eliminated not long after. Nevertheless, this move allowed him to stay alive in the tournament, potentially changing the outcome completely.
Jason Su emphasizes on his coaching site that the ability to make that kind of decision when you are being overwhelmed by huge emotions, like fear or anger, is what separates good players from those who are truly great winners.
“If you can realize that someone else is making the right decision, but you can’t do it when you are the one sitting in the chair, what’s the point of studying?” the coach questions.
