Less confusion, more action
One of the modifications is aimed directly at avoiding confusion. If a player announces out of turn that they will fold, that action will be binding and they will not be able to change it later to a call or raise. The all-in mechanics are also tightened: whoever announces it must push all their chips or none, ending the habit of throwing a chip while verbally declaring the play.
Stacks will also be more organized. The recommendation establishes towers of 20 chips, making it easier for opponents and dealers to quickly estimate amounts. Also, when a player leaves a chip behind after appearing to go all-in, the dealer must warn the table. Deliberately hiding it could result in a penalty.
New penalties?
Speaking of penalties, floors gain a new tool. In addition to applying suspension rounds while blinds consume the stack, they will be able to remove chips directly as a penalty.
There will also be changes with the button, aiming to keep the maximum number of players active in each hand, and new provisions for those returning to a table carrying their chips: they must sit immediately and cannot strategically wait for the button to pass.

Modern accessories
The TDA Summit also brought up very 21st-century issues. Glasses with cameras, like the new Meta models, generated broad consensus regarding a possible ban, although there is not yet a definitive rule.
Mixed games received adjustments, especially in Seventh Street, while procedures for simultaneous eliminations and the calculation of stacks considering the Big Blind Ante were also clarified.
Not everything found an answer. Even the discussion about using the denomination “Women’s” or “Ladies Event” remains open.
The next meeting will be in 2028. Until then, these new rules will seek something that seems simple but is never so in poker: that a hand is played under the same criteria no matter where in the world you are seated.
