It all started when Moncek decided to go all the way with a huge bluff against Eric Wasserson
The problem was what happened next.
Moncek pushed all-in and put Wasserson to a decision for more than US$1.6 million. Despite having a considerably strong flush, Wasserson took nearly two minutes to call.
“Give me a second. I don’t think I can really fold, but…”, he said while analyzing the situation.
When he finally announced the call and took the historic pot of US$4,260,000, Texas Mike immediately fired: “Probably the biggest nit-roll of all time.”

Wasserson defended himself arguing that he had never played a pot of such size and that he really considered the possibility of facing a higher flush.
The discussion didn’t end there. Moncek also questioned his opponent’s lack of action despite having a stack over US$5 million, while the tension began to turn into another show within the show.
Hours later, however, Texas Mike cooled down and used X to apologize for his behavior. Interestingly, Wasserson considered the gesture unnecessary: he assured he was not offended and described the reaction as completely normal for someone who just lost such an amount of money.
The story also had an unexpected twist. Wasserson finished the four sessions with approximately US$3.2 million in winnings, while Moncek managed to recover to nearly even during the week.
