There is no place where cards do not fly: the African Poker Championship is coming – CodigoPoker

If there was still any corner of the planet left to conquer, poker seems determined to reach it. Now it will be Africa’s turn, where at the end of September the African Poker Championship (APC), a new circuit, will kick off its first stop in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

The inaugural festival will take place between September 24 and October 4 at Le Grande Casino

The APC is driven by MJPT Global and is born with the intention of bringing together players and poker communities from different parts of the African continent, as well as creating a circuit capable of attracting international participants. For players looking to add flags to their record, the first edition also represents a particular opportunity: Tanzania will become a new stop for those pursuing results in as many countries as possible.

The Main Event, the great attraction of the African Poker Championship

The most important tournament of the festival will be the APC Main Event, with a US$1,000 buy-in and US$200,000 guaranteed. The competition will begin on Wednesday, September 30 with Day 1A, while Day 1B will be played on Thursday and the last starting flight will be on Friday.

The qualifiers will return to the tables on Saturday, October 3 to play Day 2 and seek a place at the final table. The first champion in the history of the African Poker Championship will be crowned on Sunday, October 4.

Additionally, those who want to enter the tournament with a smaller investment will have a US$125 Super Satellite scheduled for September 25.

But the Main Event will not be the only important tournament. The festival will have several competitions of different levels. The Grand Slam Mega Stack, with a US$1,500 buy-in, will start on September 25 and will have US$100,000 guaranteed.

The next day will feature the APC DeepStack of US$300, with another US$50,000 guaranteed, while the Single Day Mini High Roller of US$2,000 will also have a minimum prize pool of US$50,000. The tournament with the highest buy-in will be the Super High Roller of US$5,000, which will be held on September 27.

Meanwhile, the APC High Roller of US$3,000 will start on September 29 and will have US$100,000 guaranteed.

The schedule also includes Turbo, SuperStack, Survivor Bounty, and Pot-Limit Omaha tournaments, including the Le Grande Bomb Pots Double Board of US$300, scheduled for October 1.

And as if poker were not enough attraction, Tanzania offers the possibility of turning the trip into a much more complete experience. Those who arrive in Dar es Salaam to play the APC can take advantage of the opportunity to visit some of the country’s great treasures, from the safaris of the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater to Mount Kilimanjaro (the highest in Africa, at 5,896 meters) or the beaches of Zanzibar. An unusual combination of poker, nature, and tourism that makes this first edition of the African Poker Championship a different proposal for players who want to add a new flag to their journey.
