For years, poker fans have followed Daniel Negreanu

in every session, tournament, and challenge of the World Series of Poker through his popular vlogs. However, this time the Canadian put aside the cards to share much more important news: he will be a father.

The announcement came at the beginning of one of his most recent videos, where he appeared reading The New Father: A Dad’s Guide to the First Year, a guide for first-time parents. What seemed like a curious scene ended up becoming one of the most emotional revelations of his public career.

“We are announcing to you first,” commented Amanda Negreanu

in the vlog. “We are fifteen weeks pregnant,” added the couple, sparking a wave of congratulations among KidPoker’s followers.

Soon after, they both explained that the pregnancy is being carried out through surrogacy. “We have an amazing surrogate mother who is doing fantastic,” said Negreanu, while Amanda highlighted the commitment and dedication of the person helping them fulfill their dream of starting a family.

According to Daniel himself, becoming parents is a decision they have been preparing for several years. He even joked about the changes they have made in their lifestyle to adapt to this new stage.

“During the last year or two we have prepared for parenthood in a way we hadn’t before,” he said. “I think it’s the time. We are officially ready.”

The couple also confirmed they are expecting a boy and that the estimated birth date will be at the end of November.

The announcement marks a new chapter in the life of one of the most important figures in poker history. Negreanu, a Hall of Fame member and winner of over 56 million dollars in live tournaments, will now face a challenge completely different from the tables.

As a fun fact, several fans have already started calling the future family member “BabyPoker,” following his father’s famous nickname, “KidPoker.”
