Carlos Serrano and a mistake that turned into an anecdote
Regarding the start of the final table, Serrano revealed an unusual situation: “I arrived with the chip leader on my left. Well, first of all, I made a mistake in the point count, so I thought I had many more chips than I actually had. Later I realized that I wasn’t the chip leader, but the one on my left was, and I had to play differently than what I had planned. So that was very, very strange.”
The change in scenery forced him to adjust his strategy on the fly: “My initial plan was to apply more pressure, what one can pressure when they are the chip leader. And then later I realized I wasn’t the chip leader, so I had to change.”

For the Colombian, the decisive moment of the tournament wasn’t in the heads-up, but before: “I think the turning point was the hand before the final table, in which I eliminated the player who finished tenth. I think that’s where the break happened because I got a very good stack.” And regarding the HU, he said: “It was quite stuck, there weren’t such big pots and the few big pots there were, he won them all. He pulled a very, very good bluff on me. The only big pot I won was the flip, so luck was always there.”
