The flop showed A Q 9 giving Kiki top pair top kicker. Esfandiari, unaware of any of this, led out betting US$8.000. Kiki called to see the 10 on the turn, at which point Esfandiari continued betting, this time for US$21.000. Kiki called again and the 5 appeared on the river.
Without thinking twice, Esfandiari announced all-in for his remaining US$42.000 and Kiki called. “I have to be a good host,” Esfandiari said with a laugh, while Sam Kiki took the US$162.500 pot.
