The legendary squad of Los Jefes is back in full attack mode and now plans its next mission at none other than this year’s Aussie Millions Championship festival, which will take place from April 24 to May 10 at the iconic Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia
In a new adventure, Los Jefes reunite again on the same distant land where they first emerged: Australia. Here, towards the end of November and early October 2025, they shone brightly and dazzlingly during the WPT Australia festival, where they claimed multiple titles throughout the schedule, including the distinguished recognition as Team of The Festival. Additionally, Barrios became a two-time champion in this same series, earning an additional trophy that reinforced his outstanding contribution to accumulating points for his team: he received the recognition as Player of The Festival and with it four trophies in total to bring home, to Mexico. He practically needed a full suitcase to reinforce the weight of his nickname as “The best in the business”.

This year’s prestigious southern festival Aussie Millions Poker Championship presents a new series of challenges for our compatriots. With an extensive tournament schedule, in which they plan exhaustive participation, Los Jefes will take their skill deployment to the highest level to seek to stand out once again in a highly competitive environment that does not forgive mistakes.

The schedule will be extensive with 18 events, starting with the Opening event guaranteeing AUD$1,000,000 (US$716,276) for a buy-in of AUD$1,500 (US$1,074), including four qualifying flights. Leading up to the main tournament, there will be a 6-Max format tournament with a buy-in of AUD$5,000 and a Mystery Bounty, accompanied on the same opening day by a Hyper Turbo, both with an entry of AUD$1,500, among others.
The Main Event will be the eleventh event of the series, starting its first flight on May 4 and featuring a buy-in of AUD$10,600 (US$7,593), a considerable investment for any bankroll, no doubt, but which at the same time could be awarding significant prizes in its later stages within ITM.
A couple of attractive events in the final stretch to seal the farewell will undoubtedly be the Teams Event, played in a combined No-Limit Hold’em and Pot-Limit Omaha format with an entry of AUD4,000, as well as the Deep Freeze which offers a Freezout format tournament, with no rebuys or add-ons, bringing competitiveness to an equal playing field for all and adding extra weight to skill. The Closing Event will be the 18th event with a buy-in of AUD$1,500, matching its swift progress with that of the Main Event final table.
Now, in a new setting located on the southern coast of the land of kangaroos and koalas, Los Jefes will have to make the necessary adjustments to their game to be able to dream again of repeating their feat.
