From May 18 to 25, Uruguay will become the epicenter of South American poker with a new stop on the World Series of Poker circuit, WSOP Montevideo, which will have 12 championship rings up for grabs and each of those titles will be accompanied by a US$5.000 package for the WSOP Bahamas in December. Yes, prize, jewel, and ticket to another luxury setting. Complete combo.
The arrival of the biggest brand in world poker to the Uruguayan capital was already, by itself, a huge event for the region. But this addition raises the temperature even more for a festival that aims to bring together players from all over Latin America under the same slogan: to fight for real glory and for a top-level international opportunity.
A luxury schedule
The schedule kicks off on Monday 18 with the US$500 Mini Main Event, which will have four starting flights and a conclusion on Wednesday 20. It is one of those tournaments designed to attract volume, generate large fields, and open the series with a bang. That same day, a US$2.000 One Day High Roller and a US$300 Turbo KO will also take the stage, in a start that will be anything but shy.
Then strong events will arrive such as the US$3.000 2-Day High Roller, the US$600 Mystery Bounty, the US$800 Freezeout Deepstack, and formats with their own spice like the Win The Button Turbo KO. But, of course, the main focus will be on the US$1.700 Main Event, which will begin on Thursday 21 and end on Sunday 24, with the mission of crowning one of the first ring owners in this historic edition.

And the final stretch won’t slow down either: Single Day KO, Ring 500, Second Chance, US$5.000 Super High Roller, PLO Dealer’s Choice, Closer and Last Chance High Roller will complete a grid loaded with dynamite.
