Europe expands its poker offerings with a new edition of the Italian Poker Sport featuring a million-dollar Main Event

European poker does not stop. While the main international circuits continue to tour the continent, a new series is preparing to add more tournaments, more formats, and options for players of different levels. This is the Italian Poker Sport Summer Edition, which will land at King’s Resort, in Rozvadov, Czech Republic, from August 18 to September 1.

The festival will have 59 events and will be headed by a Main Event of €380 with €1,500,000 guaranteed, a figure that once again puts Rozvadov at the center of the European scene after it ceased to be the host of the World Series of Poker Europe.

The proposal is another example of how the poker offering in Europe continues to expand, with festivals that seek to attract both regular circuit players and recreational players drawn by large guarantees and accessible buy-ins.

Italian Poker Sports: an offer for all budgets

One of the strengths of the IPS will be precisely the variety. Buy-ins will start from €35, while the Main Event will have an entry fee of €380. There will also be room for higher limit players, with a €700 High Roller. The schedule will also include Mystery Bounty, Knockout, Pot-Limit Omaha, Turbo, and Ladies Event tournaments, among other formats.

The structure also includes multiple satellites, with entries from €35, allowing access to the Main Event for a much smaller investment.

The choice of King’s Resort is no coincidence. The Rozvadov casino has become one of the major hubs of European poker and maintains an almost permanent calendar of festivals.

In fact, the IPS will not be an isolated event within the resort’s agenda. The Dutch Classics festival, with €400,000 guaranteed, runs until August 17, just one day before the start of the Italian Poker Sport. And as soon as the IPS ends, the German Poker Tour will take over with another €300,000 guaranteed.

The succession of events shows an increasingly marked trend on the continent: the poker player can find action almost continuously, with different circuits, buy-ins, and formats.

An increasingly competitive European market

The growth of this type of festival also reflects the transformation that poker is experiencing in Europe. It is no longer just about the big names on the calendar, but about an extensive network of regional events capable of generating large fields and million-euro prizes.

The Italian Poker Sport has already demonstrated its ability to attract crowds. In a previous edition held in Rozvadov, the €380 Main Event reached 5,258 entries, generating a prize pool of €1,689,334 against the €1.5 million guaranteed.

Now, the IPS returns with a new summer edition and a proposal that summarizes much of what European poker currently offers: large guarantees, accessible entries, multiple formats, and an increasingly packed calendar.
