While much of the poker world keeps its eyes on the classic destinations, the Asian Poker Tour (APT) continues building its own empire on the other side of the planet. And the announcement of the APT Championship 2026 schedule only confirms that Asia is no longer an oddity… it is a very serious opportunity.
From November 13 to 29, Taipei will once again become the epicenter of Asian poker with a 17-day festival that promises to break records. The alliance with the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Club and venues like the Asia Poker Arena and Red Space raise the logistical stakes, but it is at the tables where the real attraction lies.
For the Latin player, accustomed to circuits like WSOP or BSOP, this event appears as a different alternative: another pace, another culture, and above all, another competitive ecosystem. In 2025, the festival recorded more than 28,000 entries and distributed 34 million dollars, figures that position it as the largest poker event in Asia’s history.

A substantial Main Event
The highlight will again be the US$10,000 freezeout Main Event with US$5 million guaranteed, a structure that eliminates re-entries and rewards pure consistency. A format that many players value for bringing back that classic feel to the tournament.
But not everything is high stakes. The schedule includes options for different bankrolls: from accessible events like the Micro Main Event (~US$500) to intermediate tournaments like the Mystery Bounty or the Ultra Stack. For the most ambitious, the menu is brutal: US$25K Super High Roller, US$50K Superstar, and multiple High Rollers.
Beyond the numbers, there is an intangible factor: playing in Asia is a different experience. New playing styles, different dynamics, and a field less “solved” than in the West.
For those looking to step out of their comfort zone, the APT Championship 2026 is not just a tournament… it is a journey. And probably one of the most EV+ of the year.
