The new success came in the WCOOP 44-H: US$1,050 8-Game, a 56-entry tournament that paid out US$56,000. Glaser prevailed and pocketed US$21,400, while Markus O.Klunssila Ristola

Besides extending his record, the victory had a particularity: despite his vast experience in mixed games, Glaser had never won a PokerStars festival title in 8-Game. With this, he has now won tournaments in the series in 11 different formats: NLHE, HORSE, PLO, NLO8, Razz, Badugi, 2-7 Single Draw, 2-7 Triple Draw, PLO8, 5-Card Draw, and now 8-Game.
“It was a battle,” wrote the Brit after reaching his first final table of this edition. And he acknowledged that the victory came at a good time: “It’s very good for morale going forward in the rest of the series.”
A career that Astedt reignited again at the WCOOP
The fight for the historic record had taken on another dimension just a few days earlier. Astedt won two WCOOP tournaments in less than 48 hours, one PLO and one NLHE PKO, to jump to 14 titles. The second one earned him more than US$100,000 and left him, momentarily, just two behind Glaser’s 16.

Niklas Astedt.
The response came in the same edition. With his victory in the 8-Game, RunGodlike again put the distance at three: Glaser 17, Astedt 14. The Swede now shares that number with Denis Strebkov, while Patrick Leonard also reached 14 during this WCOOP.
Glaser’s dominance in this series began in 2018, when he won his first title in a US$55 PLO tournament. Since then, he has won at least one WCOOP event every year with a single exception, 2024, and had an extraordinary edition in 2023, when he won no less than seven titles. Of his current 17 crowns, ten are at the High level, five at Medium, and two at Low.
His online record is also accompanied by an extraordinary live career. The Brit holds nine WSOP bracelets and has surpassed US$12.7 million in live earnings. In 2025, he had one of the greatest summers in World Series history by winning three bracelets in a few weeks.
The 2026 WCOOP will continue until September 30, with 121 events and 350 tournaments scheduled, so there is still plenty of room for the chase to continue.
