Entering the final part of the day, Simon had a very active participation, knocking more than a couple of opponents out of the competition. In an ideal spot that added good chips to propel him to the lead, he faced his opponent’s all-in from the SB for around 20.000 points with A K, calling immediately with his pair of A A, dominating completely in his favor. The board 5 4 10 5 2 confirmed his opponent’s elimination and left him in a better position to apply pressure later on.

In the final hands of the session, Vleminckx ended another player’s dream when the action reached the river showing 4 A 4 Q 7 with about 27.000 points in the middle. From the BB, someone bet about 17.000, and on the BTN, the Belgian asked for his remaining 45.000, which the opponent eventually accepted only to receive bad news: with 4 5, he was completely beaten on the final community card, after turning over his A Q which paled in comparison to Simon’s set of fours.
