In a recent interview, the man with the most striking last name in world poker spoke about the late stages of his career that he is going through and how he takes everything more calmly now that he is an older man.
“I will only play the Main Event (of the WSOP),” he said about his plans for the next World Series. “But I will try to rest well and be well prepared. One week before, I will start going to bed later to adapt to the Las Vegas schedule. That will be the hardest change.”

He was then asked why he no longer plays as many live tournaments and Moneymaker responded simply and concisely.
“Mainly because I don’t want to travel so much, especially with the new tax law. That’s why I decided to play mainly on ACR Poker. I have been having good results and I am happy with how things are going.”
Finally, Moneymaker talked about how he lives this stage of his career, leading a quiet life without many surprises.
“I am living a nearly retired life,” he said. “I play online twice a week and the rest of the time, honestly, I spend it with my wife and exercising. I can’t complain.”
