The American became champion of Event #8: US$650 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship of the Borgata Summer Poker Open 2026 after an almost incredible day: he received a “pair of aces at least 14 times” and only lost one of those hands.
The tournament gathered 197 entries and distributed a prize pool of US$112,290, from which Mueller took US$24,575 after defeating Danny Chang
The most striking thing came after the victory, when he revealed the unusual fact.
“In the first nine hands of the day, I had aces seven times. I’m not kidding. I don’t know what was going on with the deck,” he said with a laugh.
And that was just the beginning. “I had aces a minimum of 14 times and they held up all but one,” he added.

The good fortune began from the first level of Day 2. Mueller won a huge pot with his aces in a three-player all-in against two draws with a lot of equity. From that moment on, he took the chip lead and practically did not let go until he lifted the trophy.

With his characteristic sense of humor, the champion also left a phrase that made everyone laugh during the subsequent interview: “The truth is, I have no idea how to play PLO. I don’t know how I won, but here we are.”
And, already emboldened by the triumph, he went for more: “I’m going to play the rest of the Borgata schedule. I’ll probably win six more tournaments… or so I hope.”
