Jennifer Tilly, a star who has already become a regular in High Stakes Poker.
While most players celebrated the record schedule of 100 bracelets for WSOP 2026, Jennifer Tilly-us- became—at least publicly—the only major figure to voice strong dissent regarding the year’s most controversial change: the postponement of the Main Event’s conclusion.
The Oscar-nominated actress and winner of the 2005 Ladies Championship said she was excited about her return to a full schedule in Las Vegas, highlighting the start with a US$5,000 8-Max and the abundance of 6-Max tournaments plus variants like badugi, deuce-to-seven, and Omaha 8. However, when asked about the new format for the world’s most important tournament, she didn’t hesitate.

“I don’t like that the Main Event plays down to the final table and then stops. I think it’s unfair to the player who is riding a wave of momentum,” she stated.

When the summer ends, everything should end. Not be diluted weeks later,” she stated.
With WSOP 2026 scheduled from May 26 to July 15—and the exact date of the final table yet to be confirmed—the discussion is just beginning. But if one thing is clear, it’s that, true to her style, Jennifer Tilly has already placed her bet. And the cards aren’t even on the table yet…
