Learn How The BSOP 2026 Ranking Works And The Prizes

How does the BSOP 2026 ranking work? This is how the Brazilian Circuit stages connect

The 2026 season of the Brazilian Poker Championship has already begun, and one thing that cannot be overlooked is the BSOP ranking that unites each of its stages. This time, the circuit once again relies on a system that has already proven its effectiveness. The format maintains the same logic that triumphed in 2025. It connects each stage with the same objective: to reward consistency and performance throughout the year.

The main ranking and the race for the ultimate title

To determine the 2026 Brazilian Poker Champion, the BSOP ranking will only consider each player’s 10 best results during the season. Almost all tournaments award points, but only the ten highest-scoring performances count towards the final calculation. If a player already has ten results and achieves a higher score in a new event, the lowest score will be discarded and replaced.

Special Categories: Players of the Year

In addition to the general ranking, the BSOP ranking recognizes the best of the season in four other classifications:

  • High Roller Player of the Year
  • Omaha Player of the Year
  • Mixed Games Player of the Year
  • Female Player of the Year

In these categories, unlike the main ranking, all results obtained throughout the year are considered for the final sum.

The scoring system: step by step

The BSOP ranking works based on a Base Score (PB) assigned according to the player’s final position, as long as they finish in the prize money (ITM). The winner of any tournament receives 1,000 base points, while subsequent positions have lower values starting from that number. From 19th place onwards, the score is assigned by percentage ranges within the ITM.

Four factors influence this Base Score:

  1. Buy-in (B): according to the tournament’s entry fee value.
  2. Field (F): based on the total number of participants, including re-entries.
  3. Structure (E): determined by the duration of the blind levels and whether the tournament is a GOLD category.
  4. Modality (M): depending on whether it is played as Hold’em, Omaha, or mixed games.

The final formula is: PB x B x F x E x M. Consult the complete regulations.
