In a video posted on his Instagram account, Martin talked about his first jobs.
“The first job of my life was picking apples, but it was not well paid. Then I switched to whatever this is called (a straw block). We lifted these blocks and took them to the barn. I was very strong and it paid better. I did it all summer and they paid me about 3,000 Czech crowns, which is about US$80. Not too bad!” Martin said in an Instagram reel.

“I don’t get it! My parents didn’t protect me, they let me work for two months for eighty dollars!” the Czech star said laughing.

Of course, this was many years before becoming a global poker star. Currently, Martin holds one of the most complete poker resumes worldwide, with titles all over the world and a record against the best players on the planet.
Kabrhel is another example that, no matter your origins, with effort and dedication poker can pay high rewards if you work hard enough.
