Feared in NLH, Matthias Eibinger

In December 2025, during the WSOP Paradise, Eibinger won the first PLO event he played in the Triton Poker Series and took home US$1.570.640. Just under two months later, in early February 2026, the Austrian won again in the Grand Slam of the Onyx High Roller Series, adding another US$1.250.000. With his recent performance in Jeju, Eibinger now accumulates US$ 31.075.737 in live winnings.
“I can’t believe it,” the champion exclaimed immediately after the victory. “I’m very happy to win the PLO Main Event. There are so many great players here…,” he added

Richard Gryko.
Regarding his recent run in tournaments of this modality, the Austrian himself was surprised: “The main motivation for playing PLO is that I want to compete, I want more titles. That simply motivates me and keeps me sharp. I started in December, first PLO tournament, first victory; then, two days ago, I was second, and now I win again. It’s simply surreal what is happening.”

Eibinger reached the final table with double the chips of his closest pursuer, but lost the lead and was on the verge of elimination. “To be honest, at a certain point I mentally gave up on the victory. For four hours I was the chip leader, but then all-in, I lost; all-in, I lost; all-in, I lost. Somehow I ran out of hope. But someone on the broadcast said that Ben Tollerene is one of the most disciplined people for staying positive and evaluating only how many big blinds he has. I tried to do that, and now I am the lucky winner.”
To prevail, Eibinger also needed luck in the heads-up. After being left with just eight big blinds, he managed to double up several times, in one of them finding just one out, until finally eliminating the Briton Richard Gryko -uk. For second place, the Briton took home US$1.270.000.
“I have no words to explain how this happens,” Eibinger concluded.
