did it again. The American star shone in Event #9: US$10.100 No-Limit Hold’em of the 2026 PokerGO Cup and secured his eighth PokerGO Tour title, a figure that puts him squarely on a list of true heavyweights of the circuit.

The victory not only gave him a prize of US$210.000 and 210 PGT points, but also catapulted him to third place on the PokerGO Cup leaderboard. As if that weren’t enough, he also moved into 15th place in the PGT general ranking, confirming a very solid start to the season, with five cashes in 2026.

The tournament gathered 70 entries and left a final table loaded with heavy names. Among the players who reached the money were John Krpan

The final day started with Ben Grise

as the chip leader, coming off a second-place finish in the previous event. And everything indicated he could repeat or even improve. In fact, he expanded his lead as rivals fell: Zobian was eliminated after being left extremely short, Zaki couldn’t recover with K-J against tens, Wilson suffered a lethal river from Winter, and Ausmus said goodbye in fourth place after failing to overcome aces.

Then came one of the cruelest hands of the tournament: Mullaly found aces, but Grise hit a flush with K-4 suited and knocked him out in third place. Thus, heads-up began with a crushing lead for Grise: 7.2 million against 1.5 million.

But Winter is not one to give up. With patience, reading, and surgical precision, he chipped away at the distance until turning the match around. The breaking point came when his A-J held against Grise’s A-10 suited. From there, he took total control. In the final hand, Winter called the all-in with A-5 against his opponent’s 9-7 suited and closed the deal.

With this victory, Winter surpassed US$37 million in live tournament earnings, according to HendonMob, and continues to write a monstrous career in this circuit with eight PGT titles and more than 100 cashes.
