Over the weekend, the $3,500 WPT Poker Showdown Championship event began at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown, located in Hollywood, Florida . After several days of competition, the tournament is now on its Day 3 and there are several Latin American players among the survivors.
The tournament had a total of 1,417 entries, which generated a prize pool of US$4,534,400. Currently, there are only 80 players remaining, and several of them come from Latin American countries.
Among the qualifiers, we find Latin players such as Sebastián Toro , Farid Jattin , Felipe Roldán , Andrés Korn , Javier Núñez Jiménez and Jorge Guzmán Florez who continue in the race and will seek a place among the finalists when they return to the field this midday.
The player arriving as chipleader is Thien Nguyen , with a stack of 3,200,000 chips. He is closely followed by Ian Cohen with 2,820,000, while Alexander Farahi completes the podium with 2,805,000 points.
Players will meet again starting at 12:00 PM Florida time . Everyone is already guaranteed a payout of US$9,600, but no one will want to miss their chance to compete for the champion’s trophy and the top prize of US$656,200 reserved for the winner.
