The Tournament With The Most Overlays In Online Poker History

The Tournament With The Most Overlays In Online Poker History
The tournament with the biggest overlay in online poker history

Everyone knows by now that at GGPoker they love to offer tournaments with huge guaranteed prize pools. However, it seems that this time things did not go as planned. The GGMasters 6th Anniversary had a prize pool of US$10,000,000 guaranteed, but it ended up having the largest overlay in the history of online poker.

When late registration came to an end, the tournament had registered 59,480 entries. This looks like a huge number of participants, but since it was a US$150 buy-in tournament, the room needed to register 72,464 players to reach the guarantee. For this reason, the tournament ended with an overlay of US$1,791,760.

While the overlay is not usually good news for the organizers, it is for the players, as the prize is divided among fewer people, meaning the figures are higher, and there are fewer competitors.
