Tom Dwan

Estados Unidos
is one of the most beloved and controversial personalities in the poker world. In his golden years, he was considered one of the best players in the world. Problems with excesses and management led him to step away from the tables for a while. However, from time to time he returns to show a bit of his talent, as he did this week at Poker Night in America, alongside other great players.

In a new presentation of the show hosted by Phil Hellmuth

, Dwan also shared a table with figures such as Xuan Liu
China
 Randall Emmet

Stanley Tang
Hong Kong
, Kelly Minkin

and Dan «Jungleman» Cates

 among others.

Despite his recent low activity, Dwan managed to make some interesting plays throughout the day. In one of his first hands in action, Jungleman opened for US$600 with A 4. Hellmuth called with 6 6, as did Stanley with A 7 and Dwan with 9 8.

The flop showed A 8 J and all players checked, revealing the 8 on the turn which gave Dwan a set. Stanley bet US$500 and Dwan responded with a raise to US$2,800. Everyone folded and Tom took a small pot to start warming up.

In another hand, Dwan opened for US$300 with J 10 and got calls from Randall with A 6, Sam with Q 9, Jungleman with 7 3 and Hellmuth with 8 5. The flop showed 9 Q 8 and everyone checked until Dwan continued for another US$600, which was only called by Randall and Sam.

On the turn, the K appeared and the action repeated, only this time Dwan’s bet was US$2,000. After the 8 on the river, Dwan made a final bet of US$4,100. Randall, who had missed his flush draw, folded, but Sam stuck with his flopped two pair and decided to call. In this way, Tom Dwan took a pot of US$17,550.

Tom Dwan also had an interesting clash against Jungleman, in a hand that started with Cates opening for US$200 with K K. After calls from Stanley with K 8, Randall with 5 3 and Dwan with J 8, the flop showed K A 4. Everyone checked and Jungleman continued for another US$300, which was called by his three opponents.

On the turn, the Q appeared, giving Dwan a flush, but he still decided to check, letting Jungleman bet another US$700. Randall and Stanley folded, while Dwan decided to call. After the 7 on the river, Dwan checked again and Jungleman bet again, only this time for US$2,500. Finally, Tom took the initiative with a raise to US$9,000. Jungleman folded and Dwan took a pot of US$14,950.

With this good run on Poker Night in America, Tom Dwan is back at the televised cash tables, an area where he has done quite well over the years. Can Tom maintain a good level and regain the regularity we once knew him for?
