Givens had reached the final stretch with 8.4 million chips, a privileged position among the 30 players still in the race. With a top prize of CA$1.5 million still at stake, he was among the main contenders to reach the final table.

But a hand against Klann completely changed his tournament. After calling a 3-bet preflop, Givens reached the river and received a check-raise from his opponent. Instead of controlling the pot size, he decided to respond with an all-in.

Klann called immediately and showed a superior hand. The American had to give up a huge part of his chips in a decision that ended up being decisive for his downfall.

The play was recorded on video and quickly drew attention due to Givens’ decision on the river. The all-in turned a significant pot into one that could practically define his tournament, and Klann did not hesitate to call.

The blow was even harder because Givens could not recover. Shortly after, he lost more chips and was reduced to just 710,000.

Finally, he was eliminated in 33rd place, earning a prize of CA$51,000. The fall was especially hard given the context: he had started the day as second in chips and there were still million-dollar prizes to be won.

Givens had already had a great performance at the 2026 WSOP, finishing 19th in the Main Event and winning US$325,000. In Canada, he was again a protagonist, but this time due to a decision that ended up marking the collapse of his tournament.

The hand started with Givens calling on the button with 7 5, while Klann raised from the small blind to 330,000 chips with A Q and received the call. The flop 8 10 J gave Klann a ace-high flush, as well as a straight flush draw, but he decided to check and call Givens’ bet. The same sequence repeated on the turn 3 and on the river 6, until Klann finally check-raised. Givens did not think much and responded with an all-in, but Klann called immediately and showed the ace-high flush, exposing the huge bluff and error of his opponent.
