
The Court once again put the focus on gambling and its link to economic responsibilities. This time, a judge from Río Negro
The measure was adopted following a request from the Public Defense of Family Rights, which requested concrete actions in the face of the sustained failure to pay the judicially fixed amount.
According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Río Negro, the mother of the man’s children presented records proving that the debtor habitually attended the casino. With these elements, the court decided to intervene with a direct measure: preventing him from accessing the casino until he regularizes the entire debt.
The Court’s resolution and no more casino for the debtor
The magistrate was forceful in her resolution, noting that “the issue of child support is one of the basic human rights,” especially when it involves children and adolescents, who have reinforced protection due to their situation of vulnerability.

The ruling also made it clear that child support is not optional nor does it depend on the parent’s will. It is an obligation that arises from parental responsibility and whose fulfillment is key to ensuring the integral development of minors.
The Civil and Commercial Code of the Nation enables judges to adopt “reasonable measures” to guarantee the effectiveness of decisions regarding child support. In this case, the prohibition of entry to the casino was considered a valid tool to pressure compliance.
The restriction will remain in effect until the man settles the debt in full and the Court warned that further actions could be taken if the non-compliance persists.
