Artur Martirosian

The story had some redemption. Days earlier, Martirosian had received that prestigious recognition for his brilliant Season 4 and promised he would do everything possible to defend it. However, in the initial days of No-Limit Hold’em he failed to take off: he only cashed in two tournaments and his best result was a ninth-place finish at a final table. Nothing dramatic for most, but an unusual drought for someone of his caliber.
Then came PLO. And with it, freedom. “I feel free,” Martirosian himself summarized after the victory, perfectly reflecting what was seen in the definition. He entered the final table as one of the short stacks, but got an early “double up” and from there took absolute control. The most impressive thing was how he did it: he eliminated all his rivals in the seven-player final, including heavyweights like Jason Koon

Matthias Eibinger Took Second Place.
That, in Mystery Bounty format, is worth gold. In addition to the US$494.000 for first place, Martirosian opened seven bounty envelopes and found another US$550.000, bringing his total prize to US$1.044.000. A monstrous figure for an even bigger performance.
At just 28 years old, the Russian already has four titles in the Super High Roller Series, three of them in PLO. And his wildest stat is scary: he played four heads-ups in Triton… and won all four. Surgical effectiveness.
