Poker and the streaming world will cross paths again in an experiment that promises plenty of entertainment. Between September 19 and 26, eight well-known streamers will compete in Poker Champs, a heads-up tournament organized by ClubWPT Gold and Doug Polk

that will put no less than US$500,000 in prizes on the table.

The proposal will have a particular feature aimed at making each duel a different experience. Although all the action will take place online on ClubWPT Gold, each participant will stream their own live perspective, allowing their followers to accompany decisions, reactions, bluffs, and surely, the occasional tilt.

The format will also leave little room to hide. The first round will consist of best-of-three heads-up matches, with eight players competing for one of the four available spots in the semifinals.

And reaching that stage will have its reward: the four semifinalists will automatically cash and secure at least US$50,000. The losers of that stage will later compete for third place for US$75,000, while the finalists will face off for the largest share of the prize pool.

The champion will pocket US$250,000, exactly half of the prize pool, while the runner-up will receive US$125,000.

Streamers

So far, four names already have their seats reserved: Alexandra Botez, xQc, sodapoppin, and erobb221. The remaining participants will be announced soon, although the organization revealed an important detail: none will be professional poker players.

Polk will have his own role within the show. The three-time WSOP bracelet winner and historic heads-up specialist will stream the matches showing both players’ cards, their webcams, and real-time commentary.

The first round will start during the week of September 19, while the semifinals, third-place match, and grand final will be played on September 26.
