Mauro Ávila
The tournament, part of the best day of the week to play poker on the ClubGG mobile platform, lasted just over seven hours, played in the fast 6-Max format, and registered a total of 489 entries, generating a prize pool of US$34,230 and offering an attractive payout structure, especially for the final table, where a total of US$58,487 was allocated as the top prize for the champion.
Under a fast format popularly known as short handed or short table, the tournament reached its final table where Ávila delivered a very solid performance up to this point, which he maintained until the final stage of the tournament. The chip lead at the final table started in the hands of the player with the alias “HiTheGoat” who stacked 3,862,331 in his virtual stack at the start, equivalent to 77 big blinds. Our compatriot, playing under the nickname “Elcacas”, fought with 1,792,356 (35 BBs) while “jukujoko9” started with the third-best stack at 1,609,507 chips (32 BBs).

Mauro Ávila secured the second-best stack at the final table to fight directly for the title
Maintaining solid play, our protagonist managed to climb positions at this final table, consolidating his stack while the shorter stacks were eliminated one by one. This ensured he competed one-on-one directly for the title and the top prize at stake, although unfortunately, he ended up losing all his chips to finish in 2nd place with a considerable payout of US$43,859 (MXN$757,200).
In this way, Ávila builds a solid base for his participation in the 2026 WSOP, which will take place in Las Vegas just six weeks from its start. In his own words, shared with CodigoPoker, he said: “I will attend to participate, although I haven’t planned the schedule of what I will play yet, I usually play all the tournaments between US$1,000 and US$1,500 buy-in and the Main Event. I always stay the full two months.”
It is worth highlighting that besides the excellent daily tournament offerings on the platform, there is an extensive range of satellite tournaments both for the WSOP in Las Vegas which will be held from May 26 to July 15 and later, to close the year, the WSOP Paradise from December 1 to 18 in the Bahamas, where with minimal investments like Mauro’s, one can aspire to compete in much higher caliber tournaments, in this case live, and experience an international poker adventure.
