Poker tournaments usually take place in friendly environments where, although a lot of money is at stake, there is often a camaraderie among all who share a passion for the game. However, nerves and tension can often play a bad trick, as happened in the Davison room, located in Michigan

It all started when the player Eric Knopp

“What do you mean 6,000?” Knopp asked in a challenging tone. “All the other dealers say that once the blind is posted it doesn’t change. And it’s posted,” Knopp explained. To which Mike replied simply: “No, the blinds are not posted.”

Quickly, Knopp ended up shouting at Mike: “Shut up, don’t tell me what to do”. That’s when Mike decided he had enough and stood up from his chair to grab Knopp by the neck and knock him to the ground. Others quickly intervened to separate them.

Mike returned to his post while shouting at Knopp: “Do you think I’m a nobody? I’m going to find you. Do you think I’m a nobody? I’m going to find you. You got beaten up by an old man.”

This is not the first time we’ve encountered a situation like this. For some reason, it seems that most of these fights happen in poker rooms outside casinos. Perhaps the absence of qualified security staff makes players feel more comfortable fighting. What we do know is that, surely, the presence of these two individuals will not be entirely welcome in Davison again.
