In a city with a medieval fairy-tale setting, Frank Koopmann

Germany
wrote his own so that the 2026 WSOP Europe has its first champion. In Event #2: €3.300 Mixed PLO / PLO8 / Big O, the German was crowned after defeating Shaun Deeb
United States
heads-up and took home his first bracelet, along with a prize of €123.879.

The tournament was held at the Hilton Prague – replacing the traditional Kings Resort in Rozvadov – and gathered a field of 181 entries, generating a total prize pool of €543.000. In his first experience at a final table of these characteristics, Koopmann managed to prevail against several high-level specialists.

“It’s incredible to beat such a professional player like Shaun. PLO is my passion,” declared the brand new champion after his victory.

A high-level finish for Koopman

Deeb had arrived as chip leader on the Final Day and was looking to add a new title to his outstanding career. Along the way, he eliminated several heavy-hitting rivals, including Michael Mizrachi

United States
, a world champion who finished 24° for €6.545.

Also Benny Glaser

United Kingdom
(21°, €6.545), Stoyan Madanzhiev
Bulgaria
(9°, €10.208) and Scott Bohlman
United States
(8°, €12.498).

In the 3-handed play, Koopmann faced off against Deeb and Blaz Zerjav

Slovenia
. There came one of the key hands: in PLO, with K K 7 3, the German went all-in preflop against Zerjav’s A Q J 10. The board K 8 3 7 K gave him four of a kind and left him with a 2-1 advantage to face the heads-up.

The final duel was resolved shortly after, in a hand that once again had fortune on Koopmann’s side.

With blinds at 30.000/60.000, the German opened with a mini-raise and called Deeb’s 3-bet to 360.000. On the flop (10 4 2), Deeb bet 200.000 and Koopmann reraised to 550.000, getting the call.

The turn (4) brought a check-call from Deeb against a bet of 850.000. Finally, on the river (K), Koopmann announced all-in. Deeb called after thinking for a few seconds with K Q A 3, but it wasn’t enough: the Teuton, with A 4 4 3, hit four of a kind again and took the title.
