Marius Kudzmanas breaks KK in heads-up, wins the WSOPE Main Event and takes home €2 million

Professional Marius Kudzmanas

Lithuania
claimed the WSOPE 2026 Main Event title after an extensive final day played in Prague
Czech Republic
. As a prize, he pocketed €2.000.000 and secured the seventh consecutive victory for European players in this prestigious tournament.

Despite not having major live titles on his record, Kudzmanas arrived with confidence after winning two online bracelets on GGPoker. And he did not disappoint. After nearly 15 hours of play, he was one of the constant protagonists at the top of the chip count.

“I felt I was the best player at the final table. I had to avoid big coolers and play my game. I tried to pressure my opponents to win almost every hand,” he explained in a conversation with PokerNews.

One of the key moments occurred when, with seven players still remaining, he managed to eliminate Thomas Eychenne

France
in a classic reverse cooler: with 9-9 against K-K, he hit a saving 9 on the board to take a significant lead.

Later on, he also starred in one of the most striking hands of the tournament against Hengtao Zhu

Finland
, who had finished as the leader after Wednesday and Thursday’s sessions. On a J-9-4-3-3 board, the Finn went all-in with A-K, but Kudzmanas, after using several time banks, called with just 5-4 and was correct in his read, dismantling his opponent’s bluff.

The path was not linear. After losing chips to Chris Hunichen

United States
, the Lithuanian dropped in the count, although he managed to recover quickly by eliminating Nikolay Bibov
Bulgaria
with A-J against A-Q, thanks to a favorable board.

In 3-handed play, Akihiro Konishi

Japan
took control after eliminating Hunichen and reached heads-up with nearly 70% of the chips. However, Kudzmanas turned the story around.

The decisive hand came at blinds 800.000/1.600.000. After a miniraise from Konishi and a call from the Lithuanian, the 4-5-7 flop sparked the action. Facing the Japanese player’s continuation bet, Kudzmanas responded with a check-raise all-in. Konishi called with K-K, but Kudzmanas showed 7-6. The turn brought another 7, sealing the hand, and the river changed nothing.

Thus, with cold blood and precise reads, Kudzmanas sealed a crowning victory in Europe and took home one of the largest prizes on the circuit.
