Jason Koon
While a true constellation of stars gathers in Jeju, South Korea, for the first stop of the Triton Series in 2026, the American shared a reflection on his X account about what it means to compete at that level. Far from the glamorous image of luxury, millions, and imposing halls, Koon focused on the real cost of playing these tournaments: destroyed nights, neglected physical health, emotional fatigue, and even that dreaded “dopamine crash” that leaves the body and mind empty after maximum tension.
“I know I’m about to destroy my sleep in a diabolical way, put my physical health on pause, and blow out my adrenal system. It’s going to take me weeks to feel normal again. Even after the event, I’m going to continue dealing with emotional and physical fatigue… including dopamine withdrawal.”
And that’s where greatness appears. Because Koon admits that, at this stage of his life, he no longer needs to do it. He has nothing to prove economically or sportingly. But still, he returns. Why? Because at those final tables, when exhaustion sets in and some of the best talents the game has ever seen appear in front of him, the question that keeps pushing him arises: when everything is on the line, do you still have what it takes?

Jason Koon Has Just Over US$70M Won In Live Tournaments, According To Hendonmob.
That spirit explains why Jason Koon is much more than Triton’s greatest champion. It is the symbol of a fierce competition against the clock, against pressure, and, above all, against oneself.
“You sit across from some of the greatest talents this game has ever seen, and it’s all on you. When everything is on the line, do you still have what it takes? If you mess up, you have to own it. Me against me.”
Since he began to shine in the series in 2018, he has accumulated 12 titles in seven different countries and built a haul of US$ 36 million in Triton alone. In the total live circuit, he has already surpassed US$70 million, ranking among the top three all-time winners.
